Its 64-inch wheelbase gives the bike a longer platform, accounting for its overall length of 95.7 inches. Coincidentally, its large footprint and expansive list of standard features are also why the Road Glide is one of the heaviest models in the Harley-Davidson lineup, with a wet weight of 855 lbs. This weight accounts for a full tank of gas (six gallons) and all fluids, including 5.2 quarts of oil.
The Road Glide’s heavier weight makes it ideal for long trips at higher speeds, while its Showa 49mm dual bending valve shocks enhance its performance. The frame-mounted sharknose fairing lets the frame absorb the wind and turbulence to reduce interference for the driver, while the upright seating position optimizes comfort and overall control.

Harley-Davidson extends this comfort to the rear, adding a cushioned passenger seat and floorboards so that your passenger enjoys the ride as well. Riding two-up on the Road Glide is easy with the hand-adjustable preload rear suspension. You can easily adjust the suspension based on your situation. For example, you can modify it for riding two-up or longer solo trips when taking advantage of the available 2.3 cu.ft. of cargo space in the saddlebags.

The setup features dual 11.8-inch floating rotors in the front and a single 11.8-inch fixed rotor in the rear with four-piston calipers in the front and back. This design gives the rider more control when braking in a straight line, with the front brake offering enough bite with a gentle grab of the lever to bring the bike to a controlled stop. In addition, since the anti-lock braking system works independently of the front and rear brakes, it prevents uncontrolled wheel lock in situations where emergency braking is necessary.
